i broke the right rear axle on my 2004 arctic cat 500... where is the best place to get a replacement for it..the dealer will prolly be high..what else might it have tore up...thanks for anyhelp

 

if it broke inside the cv boot,the boot might be ripped or punctured. Other than that everything else should be fine. Axle from the dealer is about 130-140$. Unless you wanna beef it up and go with gorrilla for about 400$ an axle.

Yes, I was looking at half shaft axles just the other day at a site thecvman.com and his half shaft axles were like $150. I believe he also has full and partial axles. check it out. The $230 the dealer quoted you is for the entire axle. If my memory is correct you litterally pull it out of the rear differential throw yours away and install the new one.

But, it has been my experience that the axle either breaks right at the end of the splines between the outter CV joint and the castle nut OR between the Inner and outter CV joints. Unless the CV gave out and broke. Eaither way, you need to get yours out and taken apart to see exactly which parts you need. I am guessin gyou do not need the entire axle though.
