Clutch question

Default Clutch question

I have a 2003 400 5 speed and the other day we were out riding and i had to bring 4 people out of the woods at the same time on my racks.. after shiftinf 1st to secondand giving it throttle there was some jerking like the clutch was slipping.. has anyone ever ghad this happen to them

ive had it happen to me before then realized my shoe caught the side of the sifter and it was in between shifting and not,so it jerked.

It also does it if you lug the gear you are going into. So if you were not traveling fast enough to shift into second it will lug and do kind of a hopping or jerking action. When mine does this I usually down shift and it goes away OR as mudslinging fool stated, my big ole foot (or a passengers) was slightly pressing on the shifter.

If it keeps doing it or does it all the time then you may need to adjust the clutch.
