1999 arctic cat 300 4x4 timing marks

Default 1999 arctic cat 300 4x4 timing marks

does anyone know how to set the timing on a arctic cat 300. we were replacing the valves and lost our paper that had all the specs any help would be great

According to my manual, there are 5 steps to ensure of when installing the cam shaft.

1) Pistion is at TDC.

2) Camshaft lobes are directed down toward the piston.

3) Camshaft alignment marks parallel to the valve cover mating surface.

**The alignment marks are two little slashes on the end of the shaft where the timing chain connects.

4) Recessed side of the sprocket directed toward the cam lobes.

5) Cam shaft alignment pin and sprocket alignment hole (smallest) are aligned.
