I have a 1989 kawasaki bayou 300 4X4. I am rebuilding the top end of the motor. I need to know where the timing marks are on the cam shaft sprocket and on the fly wheel. I also need to know how to line them up.

remove the 2 black plug on the magneto cover on the left side of the bike, turn the engine until you will see a T mark on the flywheel, once this is set that will be your top dead center.then look at your timing gear on top and you will see a name like LF300 stamp on the outside of the gear, lign up that mark to match up the lign on the top of the casing, the mark LF300 should be at noon position.try that and you shouln`t have any problem.
