Default 4wd actuator

I have a 2007 AC 500i. My 4wd actuator has recently encountered wetness, so I took it apart. I found the plastic worm gear to be screwed up. Is it possible to repair this, or is replacement necessary.

There have been posts about this problem in the past , and if i'm not mistaken youhave to replace the plastic worm gear ; and not just the corkscrew plastic gear i just don't remember what all you had to buy and even though parts for repair if you're not doing your own work you have the labor ($90.00+ labor charge included !

This is a good time to get a good Service and Repair Manual if you want to save money , but it's well worth the investment ; with today's labor cost it will pay for itself with basic maintence alone !
