Smile Faulty axl;e or beraring ?

I was out riding the other day with a friend who has a cat 700 and he noticed a clicking sound from his right rear axle. We went back to his place to find out that the bearing and axle we're toast so we bought new parts from the cat dealer and installed them. The bearing seems fine but the new axle was clicking from the minute it was installed. We are curious to know if it might have been just a bad axle or if something else is wrong.

If you changed the outer cv joint or half shaft, the inner joint might be bad. On driveshafts usually if it clicks when you turn that is the outer joint by the wheel is bad and if it clicks when your going straight is the inner joint. Not always garanteed but usually a good indicator.
