Did not expect this!!!

Last saturday as i was removing the covers to do a visual check on my shifting problem, i drained the crankcase first only to find it full of gasoline! Now I know how/why it's there but can the gas in the oil cause the shift problem I'm having? I guess I can bolt the covers back on and fill it up with clean oil and find out!

Sounds like your float is stuck. Gas is flowing into the crankcase when the machine is sitting. Adding new oil is a short-term solution - VERY SHORT. You'll most likely need to pull your carb and clean it if you don't have a fuel shut-off. (yr?)
I'm not fully up-to-speed on your shifting problem. (manual/auto?) What's it doing?

I have gone thru the carb and taken care of that issue. Actually, my question is could the gas in the oil cause my shift problem that I posted the other day? The atv will not shift. sometimes I get it into second but that takes some banging on the shifter. once it's i gear, it runs fine! I pulled the covers off but found no broken parts to tell me whats going on. If the gas in the oil did not cause this then I guess I have to keep dissecting until I find the problem

It is not likely going to cause the shifting problem. It might make it a little more difficult to shift.
After you repair the fuel in oil problem you will need to investigatte further to find the root cause of the shifting problem.
