Default Bought used AC 500 need help getting it going
#31
So Im in the process of taking of the head/cylinder to replace the piston and cylinder but am stuck...the only thing that seems to be preventing me from doing this is the cam chain. I think that this needs to come off to take the head off so i can look at the piston because it seems this needs to come off. Any body got any ideas? everything else is off and this is what is left. I have taken off the cam tensioner?? I think but im new to these 4 stroke engines and these chains. Thanks

should be 2 bolts with tabs bent over to lock them on the top gear, bend the tabs straight, remove the bolts, gear will come off, take some wire and hook to the chain to hold it up so you dont drop it in the bottom, when you put it back together you have to align the timing mark on the fly wheel at top dead center then align the marks on the 2 chain gears, a service manual would explain this better
