Default 2003 AC 400 4x4 carb and power issue

Not sure if the 2 issues are related but here's what happened. I had taken the carb apart and cleaned it out a couple of days ago and it was running great. I took it out on Friday and after about an hour of riding I the float needle must not have seated right so gas was pournig out of the bowl overflow and it wouldn't run. The strange thing is that there was no power to the starter for a little while. Finally i got it started and it was running good for a while and same thing happened but this time I had no luck getting it started again. I clearly need to take the carb apart but the power issue has me stumped. The battery isn't dead because the winch works but when I turn the key on I get nothing. is it possible that all the gas pouring out shorted something out?

clean connections on battery cause you might not have power to starter but will to winch, also check connections on solenoid as one of them might be loose, i just had this happen on my brand new fourwheeler. also it sounds like for some reason your float is sticking so just clean that and make sure you use carb cleaner and not wd-40.

I'm stumped with this. Is it possible that all the gas pouring out got into the neutral relay and shorted it out or something. I've checked the battery connections and solonoid connections.

Turns out it was a cut wire to the ignition switch. Spent a few hours with a multimeter looking for the problem but at least I found it.
