Replacing rear drive axle boot

Replacing rear drive axle boot
I am Trying to replace the rear drive axle boot on 2003 arctic cat 400. Do I have to drop the drive axle. I noticed there are allen screws on the axle part and my US allen wrenches don't fit. Also does the boot on the drive axle slide on drive shaft?
