So i picked up a 1999 4x4 arctic 400 it has reverse and seletible 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. i was wondering how to adjust the shifter and how hard the breaks are to bleed. I paid 300 dollors and a POS snowmobile. when we brung it home we hooked up a battery it fired up but when you disconected the battery it would bog and run really ruf, then my dad got the great idea to take it out for a ride he came back and he stalled it out and then it happended he hooked up the termals on the battery the wrong way and it smoked out of the regulator the wires burt off then we found a reg off a honda 300ex and put it on and it ran perfecto even without the jumper. so i guess it was the reg but will the 300ex reg work? how do u turn down the idle also cause it idles high. thank you

 

the idle screw is on the right side of machine. it hangs down with a black **** or it is on a screw on bottom of fuel bowl. The regulator should work as long as the connection fits regulator and charges battery 14.5 volts no higher.
