Default since kymco makes arctic cat so i am asking this here

I have a kymco mongoose 250, will start and run but will kill if given any gas it kills,. I cleaned the carb, tank and valve, filter, even swapped carbs with another kymco that was known good so I eliminated the fuel system, then changed spark plugs, checked compression. I bought a spark tester and watched the spark and it will get weaker and die with the slightest increase in rpms. before I started checking I just wanted a little input as to the most likely cause of that might be or to get some ideas. coil, pulser coil?

Welcome to the forum bbruno , kymco does make the small ac model's now up to the 366 quad's , from the 400 up are made by Suzuki and Arctic Cat's own factory ; as to your problem it could be your throddle free play adjustment , this adjuster is located on the right handle bar .

There is a rubber boot you have to slide down to get to this adjuster , there is a plastic **** to loosen to do the adjustment , then you can either turn the cable adjuster left or right to loosen or tighten the free play ; free play should be from 1/4 to 1/8" inch i've seen this problem on the larger Cat's so it should be the same on the kymco's as well .

I hope this help's you get the 250 going , this is the only thing i can think of for now , if i'm wrong someone who has experious with the electrical problem's you asked about !

I'll try to dig up my old service manual and see what it says. Would be for an 06 model, but that may be of some help.
