02 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 testing stator
#1
To start off I would like to say I have viewed this forum for troubleshooting tips several times and has been very useful. Thanks All. I started my 500 back in dec. and wouldnt rev then all at once ittook off and ran fine then messed up again. it gave symptoms of clogged carb so I cleaned it,didnt help same problem it would start right up idle fine just when trying to rev it would sputter.if i would immediatly rev it after starting it would rev fine 3 or 4 times then only idle. I ordered new jets and piston vacuem because i thought chock was hanging. let carb soak and cleaned and used compressed air to blow out. removed pet **** all was cleaned. new ngk plug also. still same problem. I read a post on here with a guy saying his regulator was bad so I checked the voltage at battery with engine idling,I was 17.5 so by that i thought the high voltage was throwing my CDI off.I took regulator off it was cracked and smelled burnt. the wiring harness and connections looked good with no signs of melting. I ordered new regulator.I dont want to put it on until i check why it went bad. My question starts at what is the specs of stator in ohms. I checked mine with regulator unhooked and all 3 wires was .7 with engine off. I checked it with ground after that it was nothing. should I check for continuity also? Thanks for anyone reading my book. any help would be appreciated.

I have an 03 arctic cat 500 and used it for a farm vehicle. We used it for spraying fence rows and everything else. One day while spraying it cut off and now has no spark. Can y’all post the test for the stator, coil, cdi etc. any help is greatly appreciated. I have a family member from far away coming in and he is a city kid and loves to ride it around when he is here
