Accessory Plugs
#1
I have a Y2K AC300 and I was installing the AC handwarmers this last weekend when I ran into a problem. First the relay that was suppose to come with the kit was missing so I went to the nearest automotive store to purchase a new relay. The second problem I have is locating the existing accessory plug that I need to plug into for a ground and a hot. Can you guys help me locate the accessory plug for me. I need to find one on the front. Is there one there? Or is there just one on the back for the 300's? I can't find either of them.

Good to see another Washington 'Cat! I've got a couple buddies here at WSU who are from Olympia -ever heard of WC Angus? Toby is my weight lifting buddy if you know him at all? I can't help you with the front plug, but the rear one could be in the same location as it is on the 500's, I don't know. If so, do you have a winch on your 300? My rear acc. plug was tied up to the frame on the right rear side just below the fender. The dealer installed the winch, and had wrapped all the extra winch line up there, tying it up to the frame as well, and burying the acc. plug. Try digging around in the wiring back there, it will have two wires in, with what looks like a fuse at the end. That is the plug-it's just a two prong style that has been capped.
Oops, well, I could be wrong. Just checked the catalog and it says on the 300 4x4 there is an OPTIONAL 12v plug both front and rear. Best of luck looking there, and nice to see another 'Cat in the state!

Thanks for your help on telling me where to locate the back plug, but hopefully I can get some help to locate the front plug if there is one on my AC300. Sorry, but I don't know Toby what's your other friends name from Olympia I might just know him.
Maybe someone else has installed this handwarmer kit on their AC and they can help me with another way of wiring this kit.
Thanks Again

Try looking around the steering post. Just below where the handlebars come out of the plastic. I seem to remember it being there in that area on a friends machine. It's not very long and kind of tangled if my memory serves me right.
I have an uncle that lives over off of Overhulse road. His name is Swidecki. And most of the Roys in that area are related to me also. Good luck on your new cat.

Well not sure if this is the same as on the 2000 model but the 99 model only has a front plug. It can be traced by going from the fuse box.
Next to the spare fuse is gonna be the fuse for the accesory plug. The wire is red/white. All you have to do is follow this wire back to the plug.
