Ok guys, need alittle help here.

I've talked to Billy and TexMudder about this, but maybe you guys can add more to this. My cat has not run as good as it did before I had the dealer clean the carb on it. It requires full choke for long periods of time when cold and if you don't have the choke on when cold and try to punch it-- it will die out. It seems to have alot of hesitation in the throttle and will overheat after idleing for more than 5 min. Thats with a fan on.

I think it's the pilot screw that is lean, I tried to adjust it today and it's locked solid. Can anyone give me some kinda tip to break it loose so I can adjust it?

Or an I adjusting the wrong thing???

To Texmud; After installing T, the machine sounded like it was flooding out, however, when 2 lines were run it ran fin. This could be several things, such as inadvertantly pinched vent when installing seat, small inside Dia. T fitting such as a plastic one etc. I was personally working on another machine in my shop so was only sort of supervising. To Boner; sure sounds like pilot jet, they sometimes do kinda stick, see if you can loosen hoses on both sides so you can turn the carb & get straight on it with a good screw driver.

Well I think I found the problem. I called up the Mechanic at "my" dealer and asked him about this. He said right away that it was the "PCV valve." He told me to remove the little rubber plug that is located on the right, front of the air box pointing right. Only alittle bit of oil came out of it(due to putting my cat on the rear rack) but when I started it up it ran alot better.

Well thanks alot guys. I still might mess with the carb because it still has a good bit of hesitation. And I also want to snorkel it.

Well lata.

A quad with a "PCV valve"? I know autos have them but I would never think a quad would.

BONER, if you are having hesitation when you punch the gas, then you are rich.
