Well, I'm back. I had intended to buy that 2015 Arctic Cat 550 XT. But I then changed my mind to used. Almost pulled the trigger on a GREAT deal on a 2010 CanAm Outlander 800 XT (waited too long to decide). I ended up buying a 2007 Arctic Cat 500 from an acquaintance who decided to sell and get a physically smaller ATV. This guy washed, shined, and sprayed rust check underneath AFTER EVERY SINGLE RIDE. Last time we rode together I went down in this bog hole on my 350 Honda, and he wouldn't follow me because he didn't want to spend the whole evening washing the quad. It's in showroom condition. Ordered a set of steerlite bushings, and I hope that it was a good decision to buy this quad. Thanks everyone for your opinions, advice, and info.

Way to go! Pictures or it didn't happen, haha. Seriously, those Suzuki designed motors are bullet proof. My 2001 AC 500 has 8,000 hard miles, when I change the oil every 500 miles, it looks exactly like the oil that I pour in. There are a few nice mods that you can do if you ever want more power: Web Racing cam, 5 degree timing advance key, a muffler mod, a K&N air filter, and if you have a carburetor, a Dynojet stage 1 kit.

It's so bright and shiny, it can probably be seen from outer space! I have the same windshield on my AC 400, BTW. Also, I love the "Jeep front end" I think they blew it on the new XR's and Alterra's with the new front styling.

Yes I love the Jeep front end. Even though I never owned Arctic Cat, I admired that look .

Tires look like ITP XTR's. If so, they are tough tires that are really good in the mud. Not a bad snow tire too.

Looks great. I've seen quads a year old that don't look that nice. The nice tires and winch are a good bonus too. All the accessories I see are quite functional, such as the hand guards and mirrors. Windshield will be nice on colder days too. Looks like its well outfitted.

Thanks guys. Hopefully it will serve me well. It shall never again be as shiny as in the picture. I do maintain my toys well (too many oil changes for example), but I don't worry so much about how they look. Wish I did!!
