Yes they are 27 inch Mudlite XTR's. I am not certain that the 500 can spin these in the mud with stock clutching. I haven't been in any serious mud to find out yet. Any opinions on that?

Put it in high gear and see how it feels launching from a complete stop. If you're going to go up a couple tire sizes you might want to see what your clutching options are. Oversized tires will put a lot of stress on the transmission, especially getting going.

Well, I went out yesterday to get a new set of tires. Saw Wild Thangs on sale and liked the look of the tread pattern, so I bought a set. I wanted to step down a size from the 27 inch Mud Lite XTR's, so I bought 26x9x12 fronts and 26x11x12 rears. The tread is a more aggressive tread so I'm not sure that stepping down in size will make any difference in abiltity to spin the tires!! Total weight of the 4 tires is 96 pounds. Hopefully this will work out ok!! Any of you know anyone running these tires?

Arctic Cats are geared for work. Absolute top speed is not their forte. I had mine on a Mustang Dyno, rwhp was not impressive, but torque was . I've only been stuck once with these 30" Mudzillas (fell thru ice into 18" of water, had to winch out) I think you should have gotten bigger! I'll probably put 27's on my AC 400 when the 25's wear out. Mine is a 2001, front end is different. Mudzillas weigh 42 lbs each!

What's different in your front end and mine?

So it sounds like you believe my 500 stock will have no issues with these 26 inch Wild Thangs. Correct?

I meant you have the "Pretty Jeep" front end like my 2002 AC 400 has, haha. I think we have the same gear ratios, though mine has a straight rear axle. That Suzuki 500 has gobs of torque, though. I have done a few mods to the motor, Web Racing cam and a 5 degree timing advance key. Mine is manual shift, so I have essentially 10 speeds fwd and 2 in reverse. Having not driven the CVT model, I'll still bet you'll be surprised when you dog her down. I've been plowing snow with a 72' plow, thing really has grunt. I predict that you will be like your friend and drive around the mud, she's just too darned pretty!

Lol. I guess I will have to agree with you on most points. However not the driving around the mud. I have friends that won't go with me because they know that my motto is if yer not stuck yer not having fun!! I see it I gotta try it!!

Hope you're right about the torque!!

I'm running 27" tires on my 500 with stock gearing and clutch. I have no issues barley noticed the difference between our 2 500's the other had stock tires. I've even been known to pull the front end up and wheelie it down the road

Once you get used to oversize tires , just for a laugh, put the 25's back on if you kept them on the old rims. I was bored one day, saw the old 25" er's (Carlisle 489) sitting in the weeds, and for a laugh put em on. HAHA, traction was useless. Way faster with the 30's! GPS top speed went from 55 to 64 mph! Also, my 2001 seems not to have a governor, will turn to 8,500 if you let it.
