Can't say for certain, but Arctic Cat were using Suzuki engines about then. Worth comparing an Eiger engine to yours (exploded views in on-line parts books from partzilla etc.) Eigers had a manual choke carb, however they also had a vacuum operated fuel tap, so didn't fit an overflow drain from the float bowl, if it does overflow due to a faulty float needle, with no vac tap to stop the flow, it fills engine and air box with fuel.

Mikuni VM Series has an excellent reputation for small to medium displacement engines (100–600cc). Easy to tune, very stable.
