Is there a way to adjust the shift linkage on my 300 so that the front differential will be locked when it is in super-low range? I have heard this is possible, but have never heard specifics on how to do it. Any ideas?

You can adjust it to where it will lock in any range, the truck is getting the diff adjusted right to move enough that it allows you to grab the locker position.

On your 1999 model, the only way I could think of you getting it to have 2wd/4wd/locker is to make the metal braket on the diff shorter to where the leverage would be less so the same amount of movement on the end of the bracket would add up to more over all movement at the other end. OR you could make a cable with more move ment than the stocker allows.

I have a 98 300. I had to take off the selector lever at the diff. and repostion it. then i made my shift linkage so it had a longer travel to it. now it will go to all 3 positions. It is a mod well worth having, i am glad i did it.

It's very easy to get diff lock, but to make the shift cable long enough to work is tricky, had to cut that floating sleave back & chamfer cable ends to work. Also moved 4wd shift handle to left side so I don't have to stop to shift between 2/3/4wd.

I have a 1999 300 4X4 and I pulled the lever at the differential like Racnooc did. I just kept positioning it until I had 2, 4, and locked. It really isn't that hard and well worth it. Anyway just my 2 cents worht. Good Luck.
