Looks good Mike. That was what I was thinking of doing as far as the intake goes. How did you hook up the exhaust ? I was thinking of using high heat flexable hose and bringing it up right beside where your intake is. But I can't seem to find the right size, I'm looking for a tight fit. What size did you use and how did you hook it up? Do you notice much heat coming out of the exhaust as you ride? I hope to get mine done this week because we are having a ride this weekend. Thanks for sharing the pics.

If you look closely at the pic named Snork1.(snork2 shows a portion of it) Look in front of my registration sticker, you will see a hose lying between the rack and the handlebars. This is my hose from the exhaust vent. I used a rubber pvc pipe coupler. I think it was a 2.5 inch to 1.5 inch reducer. Which I then connected to a 1.5 inch in rubber hose. I will try and get a few pics of this tomorrow. I have had this since last year, it is low tech but works quit well. The intake snorkel flows a lot of air. You can feel the "suction" if you put your hand near it when revving the motor (the pulleys/belt run even when in neutral) You can feel the heat from the exhaust but only if you put your hand near it. If you look again at my registration sticker, under the sticker on the plastic you will see that it is dirty. This is belt dust blowing out of the exhaust hose from my last trail ride when I got mud in my clutch. Clutch wouldn't open up all the way causing the engine to rev like crazy.

You plan on making an Engine intake snorkel now that it is the lowest thing??

BTW: I notice that you swaped out the steel resivor for a plastic model, I guess you had trouble with yours too.

 

That is my next project. It looks like it will also be the most difficult. Half the fun is in the trying. As far as the resivour, my Cat came with the plastic one from the factory. It was only one my dealer received that came that way.

 

HMMMMMM, and I thought all Auto models came with the other brake resivor.
