I was told that my rear differential is leaking because I'm missing the nylon bushing under the bolt. My dealer didn't have the part in stock and he wants me to bring my 400 in. I'd rather not go through the hassle for a 50 cent part. Does anyone know where I could order one? I'm sure I could find it in any auto-part store, I just need to know how to go about finding the part number. Any advice?

Thanks for the help.

Is it from the drain plug, or the inspection plug? Each of those just had a small rubber O-ring around the bolt. I should think if you just take that bolt down to the local hardware store and match up one that will fit, your problem will be solved, and it will probably cost even less that 50 cents! ...Just looked at the parts diagram for my '00 auto, just says O-ring on each of those plugs. This doesn't have part numbers, but as it simply says O-ring, I really think you'll be fine just taking it down to the local hardware store and finding one that will fit your bolt. Save you the hassle of hauling the 'Cat to the dealer, and be cheaper as well.

Best of Luck,

Mike

That sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the help, Mike. Didn't realize it was a rubber o-ring. Thought it was something like you'd find on the oil pan of a car.
