Most people with utility bikes say they have no use for top speed, but I go against the grain as always. This one here is to get a feel of the overall average speed of Arctic Cats. List the top speedometer(or gps if you have that luxury) indicated speed of your quad on level surface- pavement or dirt(or both). Better yet, list the best figure that you have ever got. Octane doesn't matter. Also, downhill doesn't count. You can't get a good average with some optimists and some pessimists. I'd like to know what they run on the average myself. Also, any size engine. There is no reason to single out any one machine.

1999 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 * Level ground

Best Dirt- 56 mph
Best Pavement- 58 mph

I have gotten my Arctic Cat 500 up to 70 mph WITHOUT EVEN TURNING THE ENGINE ON. How? It was in the back of dad's truck.

I have you beat Robert! I had mine going 80 down the interstate, but strangely the Honda 300 was about 5 ft. ahead of it. The honda had that lead, but couldn't ever gain an inch the whole way to Devil's Den State Park.

59 PAVEMENT
57 DIRT

61 PAVEMENT (NO AIR BOX LID OR FILTER ON)
(sounded like a Suzuki 750 Dual Sport Motorcycle...you know the one's that race across the desert)

Question: On a ATV with differentials...is there like an ultimate top speed?? I've heard there was. Like it dont matter how much power you got..the differential will on turn so fast?? Anybody with any knowledge on this??

AC 400 4x4
57 mph on the hard stuff
55 on the dirt

I know its not the same kind of machine but my 250x Honda with the 350x motor can hit about 68 mph with 13,38 gearing and 18 inch tires.

Just thought I would throw that in there.
