If I pop the clutch on cement I bring the fronts about 1 foot off the ground and leave burnout marks from the rears sliping.

Popping the clutch on pavement with a 4x4? OUCH!! Keep it up and you will be kissing your drivtrain good-bye. :-(

Well...there's a little trick to it...when your wheels are about half way up you gotta speed shift to 2nd gear..and that will pull them the rest the way up, make sure you are in the open though...cause there aint no way to see like on the smaller atvs. If you can get it up and hit 2nd you can hold a wheelie for a pretty good distance. The only bad thing is...you'll rip off your back mud flaps..and ive also torn the metal Artic Cat plate off of the rear rack

Well I have never abused the clutch to get the front end in the air but I still like the challenge of popping wheelies on a machine as heavy as an Artic Cat.

The way I usually do it is by using the terrain such as a fallen tree or a small hill.

Actually this thread is very ironic in the fact that I have been working on my new web page and I happen to have several pics of me popping wheelies on my AC.

Please go by and have a look.

Those are pretty cool pics...you ever had it come all the way back?? The rear racks holds good when this happens...kinda scary at first though...knowing 620 lbs is coming back on top of ya...

Actually I have never had it back that far.

Although I have stood my sport quads on their tail ends many times.

On utility atvs it's hard to wheelie on level ground. When I ride a utilty quads I always wheelie on bumps stumps and small logs, I think this is the easiest way to wheelie a 4x4 or heavy utility quad.
