Which tires Gators or Devils?
#1
Which tires would lighten the steering best on a AC 500A? I'm looking at the GBC Gator and the Dirt Devil XT in 28x10 and 28x12. Are either of these tires more round? I believe the rounder the tire, the better the steering...is that right? Also would moving the winch to the back help at all? How do these tires compare? I would expect the Gator to be better in the mud while the Devil is better overall.

Just my .02
I put 26x9x12 Titan 589 MS in front and 26x12x12 Titan 589 MT in rear. On the 589's the MT's seem to be flat and the 589 MS's are more round. I have been very happy with my steering, having 26x9 589 MS's in front. WOW, though, 28" tires, have you had any ball joint or cv joint problems (be honest). Did you get to ride 'er before you upgraded to 28. and if you did, how's the torque before and after (honestly)? Need any spacers or lift kits? Any rubbing? Sorry for all the questions, just was worried about these things, when I bought my tires.

Hey Rob,
I considered both of those tires also. Ended up going with the Gators and I could not be happier. Mine are 27" and I really do like them. They lightened my steering significantly. They are great in the mud, great on the rocks and great on the trail. Traction is exactly what I wanted. As you can tell I really am pleased with mine. I haven't owned any other aftermarket tires, but I would buy these again for sure. I don't have a lift on mine, just Cowboy's spring spacer trick. Good luck in whatever you try. I bought mine at www.4atvtires.com. Best price that I found. Here's my site.
