How was the mud protection, did you get any mud on you or did the flaps stop it all? In high range what would you estimate the top end of the machine is? I am going to buy a new atv in the next couple of months and had decided on a big bear 4x4 but am now strongly considering changing my mind and go for the 400i. I am kinda scared of liquid cooled machines as I have always had air cooled but I haven't heard of many problems. Congratulations on your new ride.

hey dude , The mud protection was unreal, I was realy impressed , I expected to get drowed but I didn,t it did as good as 01 maybe a little better , I put over sized tires on mine and it take's alot power, but last week I was coming out the ridge about 50 mph , ( not by speedo, wife in astro van behined me ) but that was on level ground about amile long, my speedo read 46 can't be right, The bigger tire are great they really hold good , but I recomnend 25x10x12-rear 25x8x12 front I got 26x12x12-rear 26x9x12 frts a little to much 25 would been fine, anyhoo check one out dont take my word for it CHUNKY o yeah ive had 2 liquid cooled quads, no problems so for , I had a air cooled that heated the reason for the frist one ,

Hey Chunkyboy! Tone it down a little! People will think you're trying to sell A/C's! LOL! It's refreshing for me to see somebody that has that kind of enthusiasm; you sound like a kid in a candy store!

I felt the same way about my 2000 500 auto 'Cat when I first got it, and you know what? I still get that feeling when I haven't ridden for a while! I got that feeling the first time I ever plowed snow with my 'Cat! Totally Awesome snow moving machine!!

Just don't get too carried away; keep the rubber down (not like me; LOL!).

Catch ya later! 8r

Chunky is definately a kid in a candy store, just like me hehehe. Glad to hear about the mud protection, I was curious. When you said the 25" recommendation, you were talking about for the 400's, correct?

hey jdm, liquid cooled engines are OK. Imagine this, even if the radiator got puctured (but look for yourself, it is really well protected), the engine would still have air cooling. If you cautious about puncturing, I would only worry about that when it is oil cooled, obvious reasons. But I haven't heard anyone with a punctured liquid or oil cooled radiator yet.

hEY DUDE , Sure was chris , with your 500 it would be perfect, but the 400 its a little much it dose okay , but not as good as the 500 im sure , Its the only disippoiment I have had , and it is somthing i can live with , I nearly had a friend puncture the raditor on my 01 - 400- last year , but it freaky we were looking where a bear had eat some gurbs out a log he pull up to look and a stick nearly went throught the side , the front wheel pick it up , I saw it happen and screamed out ,he stopped , I was very lucky , the lord was watching out for me , could been bad , gotogo CHUNKY
