Rear Rack Bag
#1
I checked out that rear rack bag from Atvstuff.com that Rob Ervin got and I'm considering getting one. I have a question though. How thick is the pad? Also, Rob, did you get the Green Camo one or the Mossy Oak? I e-mailed them and they said that the Mossy oak bag is made of a different material than the Camo bag and the colored ones both. I figure on getting Mossy Oak, but I like the construction of the Green Camo bag a lot. Mainly because I know what its made of. Final question- how does it secure itself to the rack, and how far forward towards the seat does the center pad come?

I ordered it today. It was about $80 after shipping. I got the mossy oak one. I'll let you know if its worth a crap.

Andy, The pad is about 1.5-2" thick and it comes all the way up to the seat on my AC500. It overlaps just a bit to be honest. My wife has ridden on the padding and it is okay for 3 to 4 hours, but she has used a "stadium seat" on top for more comfort. Mine attaches at 4 points to the rack with D-rings. I have loaded mine to the max and have never had any problem with it slipping or trying to loosen. I have the camo and like it, but it is more like a "Vietnam Tiger Stipe" camo rather than a traditional camo. I really like mine and hope you are just as satisfied!
I also got the tank bag from the same folks. It's okay, but I have to leave it loose so I can pull the lever into reverse. Arctic Cat's reverse lever design just doesn't work well with tank bags.
Let me know how you like it!

Got that bag in today. It is awesome, at least as awesome as you can really get when you are talking about something as simple as a rack bag. Its made out of a material that looks and feels just like Cordura that is on Rocky boots. Its not Cordura though. The camo pattern is mossy oak, just the same as hunting clothes have. No knockoff or anything. It has a mossy oak tag on it. The thing fits good with the d-rings, and covers the entire back rack. It overlaps the seat by about an inch, but can be pushed back. The foam pad is about 3 inches thick, and fits great for a rider. Plenty of room. The pad also covers the entire bottom of the bag, so it won't slip through the spaces in the racks. Its roomy and will most likely hold a lot of junk. Very well constructed. If any hunter is in the market for a rack bag, this would be highly reccomended. I'd give it a 10.
