I just got my '02 500i with an hourmeter installed, and no instructions. I have a couple of questions.
1. When or if I ever need to disconnect battery, will it lose all
memory?
2. If it does not lose memory, then is there an internal battery
that I would need to change at some point in the future?
Thanks for any info.

Sorry I can't answer your question. I am however interested in putting an hour meter on mine . Can you tell me where they located it on your machine? Also is it the Arctic cat meter?
Thanks

My hourmeter was put on the front right fender, between the sharp turn decal and the power souce decal, about 4 inches above the black plastic of the fender. It looks real nice there and you can see it good when you are riding. It is an Artic Cat hourmeter.

An hour meter only runs when the key is turned on. When you turn on the key 12-volts feeds the hour-meter. Giving you the accumulative(that's a big one)time that the machine has run every time you run it. I hope this makes sense.
