Eiger Recall
#1
I posted this under "Help need advice on AC 375" but a Suzuki dealer told me that all production has been stopped on the Eiger due to the Crankshaft issue. I was looking around on Highlifter's forum and found these posts:

Which linked me to this:

I'm going to contact my dealer... Hopefully today to ask if there is or if there will be a recall on all Cat 375s.

I find it funny that the date of the recall notice was 31 Dec 2001 and that Suzuki had at least 4700 of these things sold and the replacement date was by 31 Jan of 2002. Suzuki really gave a lot of time for the word to get out didn't they, a whopping 30 days? There was no way that they were going to replace 4700 ATV's in that short a period of time. They just bought themselves some time to come up with a plan to avoid the total replacement cost. I wonder if the fix will extend out past the warranty of six months if the engine fails due to crankshaft breakage?

Supposedly Suzuki stopped all production of the Eiger right now; this is according to the Suzuki dealer which told me that the Cat 375 and Eiger only share 60% of the engine parts. Thus being different engines. I was kind of hoping someone would have an idea of what or if anything was going, maybe the Cat dealer will know something.
