I would probably go with the z400, from what I've been hearing it has a bit more power than the ex with the same handleing.

No questions in my mind it would be the new Z400. Until Honda can put either their new 450, or 650 liquid cooled motors in a quad they aren't even worth considering!!!!!!!! Why pay for old technology??? Liquid cooled motors keep the motor cooler which in turn means longer life and more power. Suzuki motors are just as reliable and low maintenance as the Honda. The only thing wrong with the older suzuki sport quads was that the frames were weak in some places. I am sure Suzuki has addressed this problem with this new generation of sport quads.

Liquid cooled engines have another advantage that really contributes to long life: a constant temperature. Thermal cycling, the expansion and contraction of parts due to changes in temperature, is one of the greatest contributors to wear on an engine. Air cooled engines tend to die quicker because they experience much greater changes in temperature when they are running - it will vary with changes in engine load, ambient temperature, and humidity. In the case of a quad, where there is a good chance that water will get splashed on the air cooled engine's heat sink, the effect is even more pronounced.

the Z because if everyone starts not buying 400exs then maybe honda will get off their layZ bums and update their quads.. oh and because the Z looks better, has more power and it has reverse. my .02

Hands down, the Z, KFX, DVX or whatever color you want is the better of the two. Liquid cooled and reverse. I have the KFX. I looked at the EX but was sold on the engine and reverse on the KFX.
