While my wheeler was still under warranty I evidently got some bad gas and it clogged up my carb.

I took it to my dealer (Cattrax) and he fixed it. I asked him about putting on an inline filter and he said that he would order me one but that it wouldn't do any good because if it were a good filter it would be to restrictive and not let enough gas through.

Well, I was'nt satisfied with this (or the "fix" that was done on the master cylinder or the headlight issue) answer so I went to another dealer.

They sold me an inline filter that is clear and has all that paper in it and it runs just fine (as of the last 6 months or so).

So needless to say, don't be like me and wait to shell out $170 bucks for a part that was less than $5.

Get the fuel filter and get a good one!!

I use the anodized aluminum filters available at auto parts stores, with a washable stone element, in my bikes. $7.00
The petcocks have a screen in them, but I ride dusty places that have the potential for getting in the tank during re-fills, so I like the extra protection of a filter.

Never had a problem with insufficient fuel supply. I clean the fitler every oil change with solvent and compressed air, so I don't have to worry about getting to that point.

I have never heard of a anodized aluminum filter, what is the advantage of using them besides the fact that you can clean them??
