I have a 2001 AC 300 4X4, the brake light comes on when you apply the foot brake but does not come on with the hand brake. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

On the hand brake there is a small plastic cylinder with a plunger? that releases out when you squeeze the brake lever. Check to see if it is moving freely. The wire that comes out of that cylinder has a plug on it about a foot down. Check to see if it is unpluged.

do what he said ,if not a fix ,then remove the gas tank , look in front of the steering neck ,trace the wire down the neck , to where it is pugged in ,they pull them selfs apart here , cat has started wire tieing them together in 2002 ,my 400 is , my 200 250 did this to ,check this , if its the problem just reconnect and wire tie it , hope this helps .

Thanks for the help, I will try both repair tips. Im having the same gear indicator problem that a lot of other people are talking about so I might as well check all the wiring. Other than these two minor problems the Cat has been great.

I would take the front rack and plastic off. Doesnt take that long and its much easier to work.
