flatire, the legend is great but im sure the sumit is one step ahead and I am not fimilliar with the other you mentioned. Iguess it is what your wallet can handle. THe Legend I bought was $249 but right now they have amail in rebate of $50 purchased up until some time in October. The Legend has 8mb of memory and you have to be moving to get a heading and it does not have built in compass. what makes the next levels better is that they a) have more memory b) you don,t have to be moving to get heading c) Ibelieve is the Vista has acompass in it. They do take alittle to get used to and you can spend up to $600 for one. Don't buy the entry level etrex its yellow my buddy got one and it just doen't do enough.

The etrex vista is a great gps with 24mb of memory. It has all the features you need to mark courses, set headings, go directly to any previously marked location, back track yourself, plus many more features, and if you read the instruction book it is easy to use. I use mine every time I go out, and like it.
