I think you are exactly right --- that this is how law makers look at things.

1rst when I said that Washington State is proposing banning off roading I didn't mean just ATV's but all motorised vehicles - that are not licensed to drive on the road.

Now, back to this subject. A 90 cc has been so taimed down by the manufactures - that it will max out at 25 mph. Though this may be fast enough for kids to travel on the flat - they don't have the power to climb a hill. Remember two things, A quad weighs more than a motorcycle - and manufactures are afraid after the whole 3 wheeler ban.
The smaller quads today are mostly automatics so they don't have any low end torq. A very differant machine than the old honda 90 step through motorcycle, which wasn't the most powerful on hills either by the way, and is why Honda put a high low gear system in later models.

About your comment above (I really think it's time to show our law makers they indeed are not the ones with the power). We vote for them - because we believe they will represent our interest, not their own. It's time to make sure that is what is happening. I looked at the Sierra Club web site not long ago, and was astonished. They want all off road vehicles stopped - because it is taking over their land. I didn't realize they had the ownership papers for one thing, and secondly they are a group about 750,000 strong. People that enjoy off roading are in the neiborhood of 6,000,000. strong. We just have to bring them together. Most of the time they don't want to be bothered with the legal issues - but if they don't start they'll wake up one morning and find they don't need that $40,000.00 hunk of metal that can't be driven on the road.

No our leader should not have the power over us, they should inhance the power we have.
Next, the statistics they look at are provided them by (special interest groups) so you know it has to be bias. I have read much of the data, and it is convoluted. My definition of an ATV is a quad - theirs is a quad / motorcycle / snowmobile/ hoovercraft / watercraft / horse drawn vehicle / hiker sharing trails with these vehicles / tractors / basically any vehicle that isn't an automobile. When you take death and injury data from such a wide array of vehicles and then use the data to kill one activity, well, it's just wrong.

These groups have a hidden agenda (and it isn't saving kids) it's getting ride of a quality pass time.

If we as a group do not get our act together , like the NRA did, we will lose the ability to choose. and we will lose our rights (not our privledge) to use land that is just as much ours as any other citizen of the United States. How right is that.

Once again you either can't read or comprehend what you read. Never once claimed to be a war hero, for one thing real heros don't brag about what they actually did to make them hero.
