Default need the best 25 inch mud tire

I was wondering what would be the best 25 inch mud tire to go with, here in Louisiana on the WMA's we cannot run a tire over 25x12x12 and 1 inch lug height, so I was wondering what would be the best tire to go with that fall in this criteria.

Goodyear Mud runner is the best considering your criteria. The Titan/ITP 589 is a slightly better mudder but the tread is over 1 inch. The Mudrunner tread depth is exactly 1 inch...an excellent tire!

The lug height really limits this, because there are better 25's that don't qualify. The 25" Vampire has the same deep lug that the 27" has, and I can't remember if they make an outlaw in 25 or not.

I would go with the Mudrunner. Always has performed well in testing, and it qualifies. I'm not a big fan of Mudbugs, but they also are an even 1" lug I think. The 25" Tri-claws have a smaller lug than the 27" version, and might also qualify. I would veer far from Blackwater anything though. They are more of a trail tire than anything, and pretty much the most dissapointing oversized tire on the market. Especially for their price. Mudrunners are more expensive than they should be though. The Goodyear name has a lot to do with that. Check the Highlifter tire charts and that might give you some idea of what will qualify.

I bought my 500i, 2002 with the Titan 589' A/T's. They work really well in deep snow and mud. If you're not concerned about speedo reading and milage, you might want to consider 26 inch wheels and tires. That should allow you to go to 12 inch wide tires instead of the 10 inch that Titan offers in the 25" high tire. A little better choice in tires. WARNING! I have no idea what clearance you will have if any with the wider, taller tires. Check with your dealer first to make sure. Not saying the 25 inch tires aren't enough but I have been stuck in some VERY BIG/WIDE HOLES out at Badlands. If I had a little bit more bite, I could have made some of the holes where I was stuck.

589 has a bigger side bite than the Mudrunners. /they are excellent , both,I dont think you will be able to see any difference between 589 amd the goodyear tire, anyway/. I have mudrunners, i like 'em, I bought 'em because they won several mudtire shootouts/spec. 25 " Mudrunners in , I think , September 99 ATV Magazine mud tire shootout #1, highly recommended/.
