2001 AC Loses Power/Spark After 2 hours
My 2001 300 4x4 always loses power/spark after 2 to 3 hours of riding. It will limp back to the truck in first or second, but will backfire and flood out under even the smallest of load. The harder you ride it the sooner it fails. I'm pretty sure it has been this way since new. I have ruled out the plug, air filter, carb, and have replaced the coil. The fuel tank vent tube is clear and not kinked shut. We are thinking now it may be the stator, you have to let it sit overnight and completely cool off before it will run normal again. Any suggestions or ideas would be very helpful. Can someone tell me how to test the stator?
Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my 200 400 a/c. I found it to be my wiring harness underneath the speedometer, which is tucked under a black plastic shroud on the front of speedometer. The harness had a loose connection and would short out, it would happen as the machine got warm, and the rougher the ride the worse it got from all the jarring. Backfire, killing off, etc.
