300 dif lock
#2
It depends on whether or not you want to keep 2wd. If not having that is not a problem all your need to do is reposition the lever on the front differential.
1) see where it is in 2wd and mark it.
2) put it in 4wd. then remove the lever from the shaft.
3) position it where it was in two wheel drive.
now you have 4wd and 4wd lock. You might have to play with the adjustment a little.
Not sure what you will need exactly if you want to try all three,
I would think you would have to start with a longer cable, then the concern is there enough travel for the lever to engage all three postions.
Not sure but the factory stops might prevent all three positions. Not real familiar with the Artic Cat.
Hope this helps.

This WORKS EXCELLENT!! Thanks Now if you move pivot pin 1/2 way up shift pivot lever & reposition cable mounting bracket in line with new lever position you have 2wd, 4wd, & 4wd lock. This is what these forums are for!!!!

Wow i didnt think that you could lock the diff on a cat like the suzuki. I'm geting ready to buy a 300 4x4 and that will be the first mod i do. Can someone give me a more detailed example? How come the cats dont come this was with the diff lock.

It may be do to a liability issue. Suzuki has a lock in the shifting mechanism to ensure it only engages in super lo range. (can be defeated, been there done that).
The major problem with the front end being locked is the way it steers. NOT very easily. At high speed you would have difficulty controlling the machine.
I am unfamiliar with the Artic Cat, does it have the 3 speed subtransmission or only hi and lo. If only high and low then that could be why they chose not to enable the differential lock.
I know this is just my opinion, but you have to admit it does make a little sense.
Good luck on all your mods. I know I have enjoyed mine.

I old friend of mine works for Arctic Cat. He told me it is a liability issue and I can see why. After leaving a mud hold with my 300 Cat I forgot to unlock the front. I got up to 30 and slowed down to take a corner and I couldn't steer. It's a good thing the Cats have good stopping power.
The 300 4x4 does have the 3-speed subtransmission.
