My ole rear shocks are toast. Rather than pay the dealer 150.00+tax for 2 shocks (shocks only) any opinions for using a same lenght, eye to eye, and mount width on the rear of an act machine?

I think High lifter has some progressive shocks that you can get longer than stock. I haven't tried them but I hear there alright. ????

For example, i think the rears on my machine are about 16" eye to eye. Could a fella slap something like this on?

75 each, just for the shock. Thats why i was wonderng if i could score something the same measurements of better quality. The browns site is the AC microfiche and my dealer charges those exact prices.

I agree with you Vewdew, the price on those shocks is way too high. They are $75 each here too. The same quality auto shock would be about $30. I need 2 shocks(both leaking oil). Was thinking of bringing one to an auto supply store to get a close matchup. It would be nice to get a good gas charged shock of higher quality. If you find another supplier let us know.

Ya im going to do the same thing. But i wonder the fact that the factory shocks have the eye holes attatched to each end, if you buy a shock from canadian tired lets say, i dont think this would be the case. Any input on that?

i think rear shocks from an older car say 60s to 70s would have eyes on both ends.
