Default Differences between front diff's

Anyone know how the 2000 500 front diff compares with the new style in the 500i/act?

Is the cam style better than the clutch style as far as the front end dragging you out with one wheel not having any traction?

Thanks

I dont know much about the pre 02 diffs, but I can tell you from a serious off road rider. that the new diff system is not the best available. i cant believe im saying this but it would go to the honda as far as stock limited slip diffs. the new cat diff is specificaly designed to only pull one wheel in a binnding situation. It has the clutches inside of the spindle housing on the ring gear

The pre 02 cam style is much better than the new Cat front diffs. I don't know why AC put in these 1 tire pulling, outdated front ends in the new bikes.

Thanks for the info, I am aware of the issues that you mud boggers are having with the new cat front diff. The reason that I am asking is that I have read that the diff that was used in 00 and 01 was a much more efficent one. Sounds to be somewhere between the honda front diff and the bombardier. This atv addiction is getting worse by the day. A gararge full of project quads sits where my 73 nova project used to sit. I just swapped a 355 small block for a 2000 cat 500 auto and was wondering if i was going to keep it
