Default custom 250SX question?

the 250R forks are longer and have more travel than 350X forks. You can also lower the forks in the triple trees. to get a lower ride hieight

Default custom 250SX question?

to test how much travel i get on of the shaft drive i put blocksunder the skidpan and took the shock off. I started it and put it in 1st gear and left it on idle. With the wheels off the ground the automatic clutch in gaged. I swung the axle till it binded and marked it. Then i made the shock mounts to be within the binding limit. I took the springoff the shock to make sure it didnt bind. Without the shock on it and the batery case removed it willget about 10 inche of travel without binding.

hehaaw. The shock for the 250r will make it ride harder because its stiffer than an sx spring.

Default custom 250SX question?

I wonder if they ever made a bigger engine that bolts right into the ATC250SX frame. And lines up to the shaft.

Default custom 250SX question?

the 250sx comes stock with 22inch tall tires. I would like to put 20 or 18in on it. But i would like to keep my gearing and top speed. Do the make different gears for the rear end on the sx?

the big red used a slightly different gear, but only b/c it had 25" tires so it wouldn't help you any. I wouldn't go that short on an SX tire...you'll kill the clearance with the shaft drive plus it just isn't made for that.
