THE 3 WHEELER WHEN YOU CRANK IT UP IT DOES NOT WANT TO IDLE IF YOU GET IT RUNNING AND TURN THE IDLE SCREW UP IT IDLES WAY HIGH BUT WHN YOU ROMP ON THE GAS IT JUST SPITS AND SPUTTERS IS THIS THE TIMING OR IS IT IN THE CARB I RUNS GREAT ON TOP

Try cleaning the carb first, its simple to do and probably worthwile anyway, if that doesn't work try advancing the timing. I've had my 70 since i got it new in 1983 and that thing still serves it's duty as a reliable camp bike. I recently added a k&n, cut the rear section off the exhaust and added a chrome stinger with a removable Supertrapp (like a Baja Bug) and advanced the timing a couple of degrees. The thing has new life!

I'll get one up when I can, I have to say though she's cosmetically stock, she ain't pretty. Like han solo said "she might not look like much but she's got it where it counts. I may get to the cosmetics this year but I just blew the motor in my boat this weekent and a $300 speed control on my custom golf cart so money's gonna be a little tight. I may be able to e-mail one though.

i have an 80 atc 70,and i have worked on a few also.i know if they sit out in the rain they tend to get water in the tank.that leads to water or rust in your carb.try cleaning out both.also ive seen the arm on the points which opens them, has been wore down thus not opening the points to specs.try cleaning them and checking gap.you should have 0.012-0.016 clearance with the flywheel on the "F"mark.i hope this helps you.i have an 86 250r but i still love riding the kids atc 70 around.i can ride a wheelie on it forever.have fun, scott
