better suspension setup and also swing arm design from the earlier models. It also has a nicer 'sleek' look in the plastics.. i like the headlight too

If you can find the 300 kit they used to sell for those (don't know if they're still around) you'll have some very upset newer 250r and Banshee owners very upset. I had one and it was straight scary fast. I used to race Test hill at Gordons on it and I would get beat across the whoops (stability) but they never could pull away on the hill. By the same token, If I got a good start they couldn't reel me in either. I upgraded to 350x forks(argueably the best ever on a trike) and had the rear shock re-done and a wider axle.
Bought it in 97 for $800 cleaned it up a little and sold it a year later for $1200. Pretty good investment.

I've checked those kits on bikebandit.com. in their microfiche. Them things are outrageously priced.

Yeah they probably are, the one I had was already on it, they used to sell the entire head, ported and polished ready to go. Mine was anodized red which is also how it came in the Kit. I was running a 36mm Mikuni with a K&N with an outerwear and no airbox. If the pipe is stock, the only new one I know of you can buy is a DG with the National finish. If there are others I couldn't find them. It was a rocketship!

i have a dg pipe its bronze in color not sure what type it is. will i need a new one. do i need case work done? is all the money invested worth the extra power? my friend has a 99 banshee i used to race him on my lt250r and beat him but i talked alot of trash to him so i realy dont want to give him a chance to talk it to me.hahaha what are friends for right... will this 300 kit keep me with the banshees top end? he will run 83mph on a straight away my quadracer used to run 87mph but would get there faster.(hes kinda heavy so if a small guy got on it he might have beaten me...good thing for mc donalds) do you think a 5 speed aircooled engine will handle the torture of being wide open in 5th? how much power difference did you have over your stock r? ive heard from many people this is the way to go but i dont want to spend too much cash on something i only paid 200 bucks for.

thanks guys

i found a good deal on a 39mm carb. too. i had a 40.5mm smooth bored on my lt250 and it was a world of difference. i hope its ok tho for an aircooled.

my brother's 81' 250r came with a 300kit, we never knew about it either.. thing was FAST!! 6th gear wide open down the flats and the front end would be jumping out from under ya. Only thing that was bad was we cracked his sleeve.. so now it has a stock 250 jug on it but right now it's not running correctly.
