Default What to look for when buying

The last Big Red 250 I bought completely blew off, top and bottom end. It's not worht fixing, for the prive of a new motro, head, components I could buy another machine. This time I'm looking for something in MINT condition. When looking at these machines, what is the most important factors to consider? I know that the motor and head should have no ticking sounds at all when it's running or else, well I know what happens But what else? I figuer that if the machine looks in mint condition, runs good, and not too much wear, it usually means a good running mahcine, cause the guy really took care of it. What do you all think, and what else should I be lookin at? Thank You

Well, when i went to go look at my Big Red it was in great shape. I mean, it had a bad gas tank, bad fenders and trunk lid, and thats about it. But heres some things you need to consider, all old ATC's are usually worn out when you get them, sometimes not the motor but axle bearings and such. I had mine for like 4 months and the shaft driver tore up because of worn shaft bearings. So i guess if you're looking for something old like an ATC, buy it then go in and replace all of the bearings and seals (if they show signs of wear) before something major breaks. But i wouldn't buy something that the plastic is terrible and the engine runs poorly. If the bearings are in good shape and everything is in great working order buy it if its not too much on the price. Another thing, if the tires are in worn condition you can usually take them down $100-$200 depending on how bad they are. Well i think that if ur wantin some real fun go ahead and try out a 200x if you aren't that experienced or a 350x if you're very experienced. They're both awesome bikes.
