Well, one of the greatest debates resurfaces. There is no real evidence that 87 350x's and 250r's were ever made. Except 1 seat ownde by a 3ww member. Apears to be 87 250r seat. I read in 3&4 wheel action mag from 86-87 that the r would not be produced in 87. This was when the new models were released. They did make 87 200x's, but the one on ebay was not one. It was 83-85. My riding partner has an 87 200x and I have ridden it. Basically same as 86 except for graphics and minor weight and width differences& it had a key switch. They also made the 250es in 87. Maybe other Hondas but not sure. Kawi did make the t-3 in 87.

1987 Honda Three Wheelers.......

ATC125M
ATC200X
ATC250ES BigRed
ATC250SX

I can't speak for the R. Never seen one......just rumors and the one pic floating around on here.

I can tell you that some 350X models were built as 1987 models. I acquired 3 engines from a High School Vo-Tec Center that got them from the Honda warehouse in Shreveport,LA when the ATC models were facing D-Day.

The EIN on the engine that I sold here reads.........TE08E-52######........designating it as a bonifide '87 year model engine

I am not going to list the last numbers in case of peeping eyes from Honda because the Vo-Tecs across the U.S. have binding contracts with Honda that if these engines are ever deemed "useless" for vocational use....they are to be destroyed and the part of the case with the EIN number is to be sent to Honda.

You can't be sure, but I would have to believe that SOMEONE, being an employee of Honda, or otherwise has snuck one of these trikes out the door complete. Finding one would be like striking oil.

I have seen in person and read about the 87 R wheeler. Supposed be only from Canada for 87. Different seat logo...white rear fenders, front fender, and radiator shrouds.

I remember seeing a picture of what was called an 1987 ATC 250R in one of the magazines way back in the day. I believe it was said to be only released in Canada. It was sweet looking though with white plastic.

I heard a rumor that they were making 3-wheelers into the 90's. None went to the USA and many went to Mexico.

Just a rumor and no hard facs though.
