is it hard to replace the piston rings in a 86' BIG RED and do they cost a lot


Dose anybodey know if My big red would win a race aganist a 88 250x honda fourtack I think i will blow him away in 3rd gear ???

 

Unless the 250X is ragged, you wont be close in a drag race.

A good set of quality rings and a top end gasket set will set you bak about $75

You are going to need a repair manual to rebuild it correctly. It has all the specs for you to follow regarding clearances..etc.

The manual lays it out in basic terms how to go about replacing the rings.
