I see what you mean, but it wouldn't be any more advanced than what we have now currently in my opinion.
I mean, we have the YFZ450.an engine derived from the baddest dirtbike Yamaha has ever built.
Then the 450R, as detuned as it is, is from Honda's baddest dirtbike.
We are still waiting on the new Suzuki and Kawasaki quads which will be popping up over the next year.
The dirtbike market has always been ahead of our sport in technology, but it's now balancing out I think in regards as to money being spent on R&D.
I don't have any pics of anything that Honda has built and didn't go to production with except for the 1993 TRX200X.
Everything else is old photocopied Honda In-House Memos and old build sheets similar to what the automakers use today. It's not that relevant because nearly all of it applied to things that were eventually built.
I have got one helluva story regarding the design and reasons for the CRF450 and XR650R engines designs, but it would take way too long to do them now, and don't pertain to a 110 three wheeler....LOL

can your buddy get a copy of the infamous TRX500R brochure that is rumored to have VERY limmited circulation in or around 1989? I love to get a copy of that if indeed it does exist! It was supposed to be honda's answer to the quadzilla: a honda, 500cc two stroke 'racer'...aahhh...what might have been.

BIGRED110,
I have been doing some more looking and made a few phone calls over the last two weeks since we disovered your Blue 1984 110.
Guess what?
I found nothing more pertaining to the 1984 other than what we found.........BUT
I went upstairs and looked through some old boxes from the '80s era and found an ATC order form for the 1985 models..........there it was........Beside the ATC100 designation was three boxes for the dealer to check on the order form.
The first box was labeled PassionRed
The seond box was labeled SuperiorBlue
The third box was labeled P.Red HLA
Not only did the SuperiorBlue option for 1985 throw me for a loop, but the P.Red HLA did as well.
After asking those who were in the business of selling at the time, I found out that several ATCs were availble with the HLA option.
It is a PassionRed ATC110 that came equipped from the crate with a rear rack and rear mud guard.
The HLA, I found out, stood for HondaLine Acessories and that option was only used on the 1985 ATC110 and only in the PassionRed color scheme. It was also used for the '84-'85 ATC125M, '85-'86 TRX125, and '85-'87 ATC250SX. I couldn't find any other models offered out of the crate with the HLA option in the papers that I looked at.
Years of thinking the only Blue 110 was an '83 model and ome to find out, they offered it in 1984 and 1985 as well................and I disovered a rak equipped Red 110.
I wonder now if some of the 110s that I have seen with the rear rack were the HLA models or add ons??
Another mystery I guess......LOL
Anyway, thought I would pass along this newfound info.
