need help on old carb
First, see if the fuel is atually filling up the floatbowl.
If not, check the floatbowl vent line and be sure it isn't stopped up. If it isn't be sure the hose inlet to the float bowl itelf isn't stopped up. You wont hurt anything by running compressed air into it.
If you do have fuel going into the fuel bowl, I would say you have a serious airleak somewhere or a broken petal in the reed valve causing the engine not to draw.
I don't have a whole lot of experience with Mikuni carbs, but those are basic carb remedies for Keihins and should apply to any carburetor of similar type.
