1979 ATC 110
#1
I have a 1979 Honda ATC 110 with a stock Keihin PB20A carb. Flip
the choke lever closed and give a tug on the starter rope and
she fires up and idles. When I flip the choke lever open she'll
run good at idle and speed for about ten minutes than stalls out
with the choke lever open. If I flip the choke lever closed as
she's getting ready to stall she'll run ok for about five
minutes more. I've cleaned the carb and jets, set the idle
mixture, checked and adjusted ignition breaker points as per my
maintenance manual. I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming which is at a
altitude on par with Denver, Colorado any ideas/cures? Please e-
mail me at hill.d.l@worldnet.att.net

Good post, Philzie. I now have a way cool aftermarket plastic fuel tank on my ATC110; works great! Even has an air bleed hose in the cap like the most modern machines; none of that "ON-OFF" nonsense on the cap like the OEM version. Plastic tanks are expensive, but they hold a lot and are trouble-free.

Philzie thanks for the suggestion, bud. Checked tank and have some rust. Pulled fuel petcock and had a little bit of rust flakes on fuel filter not enough to block it though. I'm going to try some Kreem fuel tank prep & liner from Dennis Kirk, rather than go to the expense of a plastic tank. You ever use the stuff? Took a look at Greg Hall's Tech Connection page on this site. I noticed a guy had problems similar to mine on on his ATC 200ES, Greg suggested shooting some pressurized carb or contact cleaner down the airbleed passageways. Did that and found I had some crud causing a blockage in them. Reassembled the carb and reinstalled it. One pull of the starter rope, choke open, didn't even have to give her any gas and she fired right up!!!! She runs like dream now at both at idle and speed.
