Direct fitments.......
ATC185
ATC185S
ATC200
ATC200S
ATC200E (low range model.....you dont want this in an X frame......or I hope not.)
ATC200M (electric start version of the S engine)
There are very many dirtbike engines that will bolt into your frame but the only one made after the early '80s was the XR200 and XR200R. Remember that while it will bolt right in, and has a six speed transmission, that it has a backwards kickstarter and requires serious cutting of the rear fenders.............or remove them each time you crank it over.
Also, there are a few different XR200s in the early 1980s.
The 1980-1984 XR200 will fit
The 1981-1983 and 1986-2002 XR200R will fit
The 1984-1985 XR200R WILL NOT fit. These use an RFVC head like a 400EX and have dual carburetors!! The engine bolt pattern isn't even similar to the other XR200 models.

200x question
siegy,
That's exactly right. The only small change......and it is indeed small.....is that the spacers used on the rear upper mount must be made. The spacers from the ATC will not work and neither will the ones from the XR when being put into a ATC frame. The "ear" of the mount just isn't as wide on the bike engine. That's it.
I have did this swap a couple times and I just made spacers from steel pipes laying around the shop and welding washers on the ends of them after they were cut. No big deal.
If you use the entire XR200 engine, to keep from modifying your airbox, you will want to run the intake manifold from the ATC engine to keep the carburetor in alignment with your stock airbox.

200x question
siegy,
The XR200 engines do not have a seperate gearbox that changes the direction of the kickstarter...ofcourse, and it cannot be swapped out by simply replacing the entire side over with one from an X because the primary gears used for starting are entirely different.....enough so that swapping will not work. I haven't tried this myself, but have heard all the horror stories from those who have tried.
