Default Sticky gears on 86 big red

Ok, I got the trike running and am beginning to clean her up. the bike is REALLY hard to shift. I believe that it is because the clutch plates are sticking together from sitting for so long. I bought genuine honda 10W40 and a new oil filter. I was thinking about taking the clutch apart and cleaning it before putting new oil in. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to do this? Or will fresh oil free the clutch plates without disassembly?

When I first bought my bike I changed the oil with fresh EL-CHEAP-O 10w-40, ran it for about 15 min then changed it again with oil I trust. What is the filter setup on the big red? If it is a spin-on then dump it out, put it back on and run it with fresh cheap oil for a little bit then change into your good filter and oil...........unless you already have the cover off, then cleaning your discs sure wouldn't hurt. I would clean them with fresh oil and not a degreeser........
