What are you smoking???????You said "there's no way a stock 200x can beat a 250sx"...........Your uncle can't ride!!!!!!!! sorry dude been there done that......250sx got it's *** handed to it! With me driving and with the owner of it driving...

I got my 250sx to 56 mph on pavement, next to a truck doing 56 mph. That was all she wrote.

the honda 200x is designed for racin and trail riding...that 250x is more like a utility quad....its not ment to go fast..just for farm work and doin stuff on your land..theres no way the 200x is beaten by it.

I agree that the bike will probably do 55 or so mph. I've raced a 200x last winter and walked away from him from first gear. If the 250sx does 55, then you're saying the 200x does around 60.....almost as fast as the 350X? Either the 350x is a lame motor, or the 200x is the all time weight to power ratio bike that can almost take the larger, more powerful 350x.......I doubt it. Stock for stock, the 250sx is slightly faster than the 200x. Sorry, but that's the truth. If I put in a high compression piston, carb, cam and pipe, I'm sure the bike would top 60, but why do it. The 250SX is awsome as it is already.

I guess we are both going to face the fact we do not believe each other. My riding bud has a trail bike with a speedo. I was on the lower end of fifth at 52 MPH. Later on I did top it out but he was on his bike ( THE 250sx!!!!!) and I left him in the dust.... He said I just walked away from him like nothing. He is a experienced rider and his bike runs top notch (stock). My bike does 60mph(+ maybe a little) with 22" tires and a 12/40 (stock) gearing and my mods are listed below. This I will bet a Keg of beer on, if you prove me wrong.

OK boys.......I found and original test artical for the 250sx....They said "It maxed out around 50 mph on hard flat ground" SO this is a stock machine......Where did you buy you "stock" machine that is smoking a 200x?..........in the artical it states that the 250sx was built to fill the gap between the big red and the "X" machines (200,350).

Acaully coming from somebody that has both 250sx and 200X the 200x is quicker, and neither of them will go over 60. (85 200x) And i bet you didnt know that if you put in a hi compression piston you will acually go slower when you top out because with more compression you loose top end, and with the 250sx you cant re-gear it and nobody makes a hi rev ignition for it. The 200X is just a better race trike. the 250sx is a pretty good sport utility trike thow. The only thing about the 250sx is that its barley got any tourque...

The 250sx has that stump-puller 1st gear though.

Default 250sx???????????

I used to have a 1987 ATC 250SX. I liked (still do) 250SX's so much, that I actually gave up a brand new '92 QuadRunner LT230E to my brother, just to be able to buy my 250SX for $1050 dlls, thus going back to 3 wheels. I loved the fact that it had reverse & electric start, a cool "instrument panel" with labeled indicator lamps that were more than just a little round shaped light, had a sophisticated "smooth" engine sound, and yet still had big ballz (exactly: "wow! a 250!" lol). Plus, I had the Red/White/Blue version, so it looked pretty sporty as well. And the headlight assembly (wider halogen & white colored on 86-87 models) was in my opinion the coolest looking in the history of all 3 wheelers. I regret SO much having sold it (especially at such a low price of $400, back in '97).

As a graphic designer, one day, while bored, I made the top view of the front end of my 250SX (right down to the exact same stickers I had on it), with Fireworks. You can check it out here.

Incidentally, while my stock 250SX was a bit slower than my brother-in-law's '85 200X; we had a buddy who owned an '85 250SX, which had a loud aftermarket pipe, and could smoke the 200X easily. I'm not sure if his trike had anything else other than the pipe had been modded, but his 250SX was by far fastest in both acceleration and top speed. I just never liked the fact that it didn't have the smooth feel mine had. (And he eventually painted his tank white, wanting it to look more like mine).
